About Vermont

Dear Vermont Parents/Guardians:

I would like to welcome all of you back to an exciting 2017-2018 school year at Vermont Elementary. As always, Vermont’s ultimate academic goal is to provide the best education for your child/children and to ensure the safety of all of our students.

Parents thank you so much for sharing in your child’s enthusiasm and excitement for another schoolyear of learning and mastering the common core state standards and in beginning to be college and career ready. I strongly encourage you to meet your child’s teachers and to visit their classrooms. Our teacher’s classrooms are welcoming and inviting and are conducive to learning with well thought out bulletin boards and having all of the instructional materials and resources ready to teach our students’ and meet their learning needs. Please feel free to also stop by and visit with me as well at any time. Additionally, we want you to know that at Vermont Elementary we ensure that your children are always in a clean and safe facility which provides an academic atmosphere conducive to learning and high expectations.

At Vermont Elementary we recognize that you, the parents, are your children’s first and foremost important teachers. Therefore, I need your continued cooperation and involvement to provide them with the best educational experience. With this in mind, we need for you to:

1. Ask and talk with your children about their daily school activities. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their very best and to be at school every day.
2. Maintain contact with your child’s teacher and with Mrs. Perez. Ask questions and communicate your concerns so that we can build a partnership to ensure your child’s educational success. To better serve you, please make an appointment to discuss any concerns with your child’s teacher and/or the principal.
3. When visiting our campus, please check in at the front office. Remember that for student safety, there are no parents allowed on campus from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., unless you need to visit the office.
4. Bring your child/children to school every day and on time. If absent, make sure to clear the absence within 5 days. After the 5th day, it cannot be cleared; it stays as an unexcused absence.
5. Be safe while dropping or picking up your child to and from school. Safety is our top priority. Follow the traffic rules and drive extra careful when children are present. Avoid parking in red zone areas and NO double parking to pick up or drop of your child at any of our arrival or dismissal areas.

Thank you for the opportunity to working with you and your children for a great and successful schoolyear.
